Mocho, Cola Larga, Smokey, and Canelo are four rescue dogs living in a sanctuary in Tulum, Mexico. They were street dogs. Now they have fat bellies and no idea what it took to get here.
This is what it costs to keep them that way every month:
Wet food — $120
Dry food — $80
Heartworm and parasite medicine — $100
Fresh water — $60

Yes, they get wet food. They grew up eating tacos from the garbage — dry food alone doesn’t cut it. The wet food is what brings them back from their morning run in the jungle. It’s part of the deal we made with each other.
